How we heat our homes is changing to support the Government's net-zero strategy. This is to help with increasing carbon emissions and an ever-growing climate crisis where housing stock and their energy use accounts for around 16% of UK emissions. The Government plans to phase out gas boilers that are powered by fossil fuels and bring in energy-efficient and low-carbon choices such as heat pumps .
Here at City Plumbing, we have a wide range of energy-efficient and low-carbon products available to purchase, however, you will require a MCS accredited installer to install your new heating source, a list of MSC accredited installers can be found
here.
Available to properties in England and Wales, it's objective is to help with the decarbonisation of UK housing stock. The BUS will support the installation in residential housing, and some non-domestic buildings with upfront capital grants to help in the purchase of the product. In some cases
biomass boilers may also be supported. In many households, the higher upfront expense of installing a heat pump is costly. However, this is where the BUS can help out.
Who is Eligible for the Scheme?
Homeowners in England and Wales and owners of small business properties can apply for BUS if:
You own the property
You have a valid EPC (Energy Performance Certificate)
Your property has an installation capacity up to 45kWth
