 Cancer doesn't stop for anything 

We are proud of how we do business, how we treat our people and how we support the charities and communities around us. Since 2012 our charity partnership has been with Teenage Cancer Trust. 

Right now, many young people with cancer across the UK are particularly at risk from COVID-19. 

They may face even greater uncertainty and isolation than ever before, with healthcare services incredibly stretched. 

Cancer doesn't stop for anything, so however long this crisis lasts, young people will need Teenage Cancer Trusts support more than ever. 

Unfortunately, most of their fundraising activities and events have been cancelled or postponed, including a sold-out week of music and comedy at the Royal Albert Hall.

Teenage Cancer Trust grew out of the dedication and passion of a group of women, which included life president and founder Myrna Whiteson MBE, who fundraised for a children's intensive care heart unit at Guy's Hospital in 1989. 

The group met a mother whose 13 year old son had cancer and was being treated both in a children's ward and alongside older people in an adult oncology ward. Not only was he facing the trauma of cancer and cancer treatment, but he was isolated from other young people going through the same thing. 

They set out to provide a 'teenage environment' to help young people with cancer and raised the £330,000 needed to fund it. On 22 November 1990, Teenage Cancer Trust's first specialist cancer unit opened at the Middlesex hospital in London. 

Now there are 28 specialist units and teams of expert nurses and youth support staff in the NHS hospitals across the UK, offering young people with cancer the very best care and support from the moment they are diagnosed. 

Teenage Cancer Trust relies wholly on public donations. They receive no government or NHS funding at all. So for every £11 we raise, 75p is spent directly on delivering their services and 25p is invested in raising funds for the future. Click here to donate now.
