The Riello offers two different types of electrodes, the flame-sensing electrodes and the ignition electrodes. The ignition electrode makes a spark that starts off the combustion process. The flame sensing electrodes are responsible for ensuring there is a flame in the burner. This is important as if the flame is not burning correctly or not at all, then no more fuel will be added.
