Plumbright Magnetic Scale Reducers (MSR) can be used in both domestic and commercial properties. Magnetic Scale Reducers are recommended as single appliance protection installation. The MSR can be fitted vertically or horizontally and there is no preferred direction of flow. It includes simple compression fittings for easy connection to standard pipe. The MSR consists of a copper body with a permanent magnet inside. Magnetic Scale Reducers are installed to help prevent the build-up of limescale formation (mainly made from calcium carbonate) in appliances. By preventing limescale formation, the damaging potential reduction in operational life of the appliances and the costly drop in efficiency can both be reduced or minimised. An MSR creates a magnetic field which changes the crystal structure of calcium carbonate making it less likely to cluster as limescale on heat exchangers, elements and pipework.
