Description
The condensate trap captures the discharge which gathers in the primary heating/cooling system. This is caused by the fluctuations in the pressure and temperature within those systems. A discharge pipe attached to the condensate trap then allows any held water passage out of the property. The water inside a condensate trap can be mildy acidic due to carbon dioxide formed by the combustion process dissolving in the water. Discharge pipes are very rarely made of anything other than plastic as this water could damage a metal pipe over time.
