The Halstead fan is the mechanism that introduces fresh air into the combustion chamber, allowing the gas to burn properly. It also removes the toxic gas after the combustion process is complete. The boiler has safety parameters in place to ensure that no gas is passed through to the main burner if the fan is not functioning properly.
