Do I need a macerator toilet?
You may need a macerator toilet if you are installing a toilet outside of a bathroom, such as in a loft, garage, or if you’re building an en-suite. This is because they do not require a conventional pan connector to work.
How does a macerator toilet work?
Macerator toilets have a macerator behind the toilet fixture. When the water pressure level rises, the macerator is turned on - turning waste into tiny particles that can be pumped away through a ¾ or 1 inch discharge pipe.
What is a bidet toilet?
A bidet is a specialised bathroom fixture, designed to provide a hygienic addition or alternative to toilet paper.
How does a bidet work?
Bidets work by spraying a gentle, targeted stream of water exactly where you need it. They are designed to vastly reduce the environmental impact of using toilet paper, offering a much cleaner alternative.

How much should it cost to have a toilet installed?
If you’re not fitting a toilet yourself, a tradesperson will typically charge between £150-£200 to install a toilet.
The price varies based on the type of toilet you’re installing, and the complexity of the installation.
Can you install toilet flange on tile?
A toilet flange must always be on top of the finished floor to prevent toilet rocking and leakage. Therefore, a toilet sitting on tile requires the flange to be on top of the tile too.
Can you install toilet before grouting?
More often than not, a tile floor is grouted and finished before a toilet is installed. If the toilet is already in place before grouting, it is possible to grout between the toilet base and tile.

If a toilet feels loose or is wobbling, it’s typically the result of loose screws. If you’ve checked the screws are tight and it’s still wobbling, this could indicate that the floor beneath the toilet is water damaged.
What to do if toilet is making loud noises?
Loud toilet noises can be the result of leaky pipes, built-up calcium deposits in the pipes, or malfunctioning fill valves.
Why isn’t my toilet bowl filling up?
This is usually the result of a faulty fill valve. Replacement fill valves can be found here.
Why is my toilet constantly running?
A faulty toilet flapper, a faulty fill valve, a damaged float, or incorrect water levels can all result in constantly running toilets. A professional will be able to quickly identify and stop the issue from occurring.

Toilets last between 10-20 years on average. Higher quality porcelain toilets can last 25+ years, if proper maintenance is carried out.
