Overview
A Range expansion vessel is normally spherical in shape and contains a membrane or bladder. It will typically include a 1/2" or 3/4" MBSP thread on one end and a Schrader valve on the other end that may be used to test pressure or restore the designated pressure needed for the vessel. Containers are constructed from materials other than those used in thermal expansion vessels to guarantee that the water is contaminant-free and suitable for human use. When a pressure lowering valve is installed on an unvented cylinder, the internal pressure of the vessel is adjusted to match the pressure of the valve, which is defined by the set operating pressure advised by the cylinder manufacturer.
