The Potterton netaheat fan assembly is the part that introduces new air into the combustion chamber, enabling proper gas combustion. After combustion is finished, it also clears the gas that has been burned. The boiler has safety measures in place to ensure that no gas can reach the main burner if the fan is malfunctioning.
