What is a boiler fire valve?
Fire valves are an essential safety feature of many boiler systems. A sensor sits inside the boiler's insulating casing and is connected by a tube to a valve in the fuel supply line.
Should a certain temperature be detected (most likely because of a fire), the valve shuts off the fuel supply to prevent the fire becoming uncontrollable. Both oil and gas boilers should have fire valves installed to help prevent fires. Testing should also be carried out regularly to ensure they're working correctly.
