Our range covers exposed bar mixers, concealed shower valves and thermostatic options - so whether you're doing a straightforward swap or a full bathroom refurb, you'll find the right spec here. All products come from manufacturers we know and trust, including Mira, Bristan, Grohe, Aqualisa and our exclusive iflo range - and with over 350 branches nationwide, expert advice is never far away if you need it before you buy.

FAQs

What's the difference between a thermostatic and a manual mixer shower?
For most home installs, thermostatic is the go-to - it holds a set temperature automatically and is safer in households with children or elderly users. Manual mixers are a solid, lower-cost option for straightforward replacements. Use the filters above to shop by type, or see our Shower Buying Guide for a full breakdown to help you decide before you buy.
Will a mixer shower work with my boiler?
Most mixer showers in our range are compatible with combi boilers and unvented systems. Each product listing shows the minimum pressure requirement and compatible water systems - check those specs before adding to the basket. If you're unsure what system you have, our Shower Buying Guide explains the main types, or pop into your nearest branch and our team will point you in the right direction.
What's the difference between an exposed and a concealed mixer shower?
An exposed mixer has the valve and pipework visible on the wall - it's easier to install and ideal for retrofitting into an existing bathroom. A concealed mixer sits behind the wall with just the trim and controls on show, giving a clean, minimal look. Both deliver the same performance; the right choice depends on your bathroom layout, budget and the finish you're after.
Do I need a plumber to install a mixer shower?
A straight swap - replacing a like-for-like mixer shower where the pipework is already in place - can be within the reach of a competent DIYer. However, if new pipework is needed, or you're converting from a different shower type, a qualified plumber is recommended to ensure correct pressure balancing and a watertight installation. Mixer showers don't involve electrical work, so no Part P certification is required - unlike electric showers.
Can I collect my mixer shower from a local branch?
Yes - Click & Collect is available from over 350 City Plumbing branches nationwide, usually ready in as little as 5 minutes. Use our Branch Locator to find your nearest branch and check availability. Our team can also help you choose the right product if you're unsure before buying.
