Do bidet taps come with a waste included?

What water pressure is required for a bidet mixer tap?
Operating pressure requirements depend entirely on the internal cartridge design of the tap. While traditional crosshead bidet taps with rubber washers can often function efficiently on gravity-fed low-pressure systems (starting from 0.1 or 0.2 bar), single-lever taps fitted with ceramic disc cartridges typically perform better on high-pressure systems like combi boilers or unvented cylinders. It is crucial to verify the minimum bar pressure rating of your chosen tap against the property's hot and cold water system to ensure a balanced and adequate flow.
Can I install a bidet tap on a standard basin?
Bidet taps are specifically engineered for bidet pans and are not suitable for standard wash basins. They feature an adjustable, directional nozzle on a ball joint designed to angle the water flow upwards and outwards, which would cause splashing or direct water outside the bowl of a standard bathroom sink. For wash basins, you must specify a standard basin mixer tap which directs the water straight down into the bowl.
How do I connect the bidet tap to the water supply?
Most modern bidet taps are supplied with flexible braided tap tails that terminate in standard 1/2-inch BSP female nut connections, allowing for a fast and secure connection to 15mm isolation valves. When installing, ensure the flexible hoses are not kinked or twisted, as this will restrict the flow and potentially damage the internal EPDM lining. For traditional bidet taps, you may encounter rigid copper tails which require standard compression fittings to link up with the hot and cold pipework.
