Overview
Gledhill Multiblocs, inlet valves, or combination valves are specifically designed for unvented cylinders. They are quick and easy to install, and can be fitted vertically or horizontally, with the pressure reducer always first in line. The multiblocs are comprised of a pressure reducing valve, a pressure relief valve, and an internal check valve. They can also include a specific connection for a balanced cold water take-off and a dedicated connection for an expansion vessel. The expansion vessel connection on the manifold is usually a black plastic plug which is screwed into a female socket. This allows the installer to either connect an expansion vessel hose or a female to compression adaptor if the vessel is going to be installed with copper pipe. The balanced cold feed has a 22 mm compression fitting. If this is not going to be used, the installer can either fit a copper cap or a blanking plug. On the opposite side to the expansion vessel plug, will find the gauge port. This is a FBSP connection and is usually covered by a factory fitted plug Each Multibloc has been designed with a specific cylinder in mind and is pre-set and locked at the required bar pressure. They are designed to protect the unvented cylinder by controlling the main supply pressure that goes to the tank. They are not designed to regulate the pressure of the entire property.
